Milestones

- Year 2010 : Five successful Cambodian businessmen laid the foundation to participate in the nascent, emerging but fast developing Cambodian rice sector.

- Mid 2010 : Entered into a trial joint marketing scheme with another leading Cambodian rice trader to export milled rice to EU countries.

- Mid 2011 : Mekong Oryza Trading Co., Ltd. was officially registered and incorporated.

- End September 2011 : Completed the first bulk rice export shipment to Russia by employing feeder barge plying the Mekong River to transship rice from Phnom Penh port to HCM port in Vietnam and thence onward to destination.

- October 2011 : Initiated, organized and sponsored the First Cambodian Rice Forum. In recognition of our contribution to the successful completion of this event, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Keat Chhon presented the company with a Certificate of Appreciation

- November 2011 : Finalized the acquisition of 2 HA of land within the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP) New Container Terminal (NCT) area. This NCT is located in the Kean Svay District, Kandal Province, and runs adjacent to National Highway No.1, The land is planned for development into an export-oriented warehousing complex to supplement Cambodia's agro-based export thrust into the international market.

- March 2012 : Secured the ownership of a 15 HA plot of land in the vicinity of the junction between National Highway (NH) 5 and Road 51, about 38 km from Phnom Penh. The land is strategically located at the road network hub point with direct and quick access to NH 5, Road 51 and NH 6 and by extension, to all the major rice producing regions in Cambodia.

- April 2012 : Completed negotiation with a renowned Taiwanese party to jointly establish a nursery to produce assured quality rice seeds and an accompanying seed germination facility to produce and supply local farmers with high yield rice seedlings.

- May 2012 : Commenced initial discussions with various interested foreign parties to set up several high throughput, modern, integrated rice processing units equipped with the latest technology to produce non-traditional but high value and in demand refined products. They are to be distributed in locations near to or within major rice producing regions in Cambodia.

- Early June 2012 : Was shipped out, through the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, the first officially authorized consignment of Cambodian Jasmine rice to the Chinese market.

- Early July 2012 : Was shipped out Cambodian Jasmine rice to Africa which big market demand of both Fragrant and White Rice.

- September 2012 : Continue shipped out to Anhui China of Cambodian Jasmine Rice.

- October 2012 : Shipped to Guangdong province for first trial 6 containers which big market for fragrant rice.
